Yesterday we went outside to see a hawk up in one of the trees next to our house. He was sitting on a branch squawking and we thought Will would love to see him! As Dave was going back inside with Will he goes "DADDY! There's another one." Sure enough, there was a
Mourning Dove sitting in one of our flower baskets among the dried up plants. We thought it was strange and when it didn't fly away when we walked by, I told Dave it was probably nesting! She hasn't moved since we noticed her yesterday, so I'm assuming the nesting theory is correct. We'll see in a few weeks!
According to some research, the incubation period is two weeks and then the babies will be ready 2 weeks after that to leave the nest! SO, if yesterday was the day she laid the eggs, we'll see babies around 3/21! Will is very excited to check on the bird (from inside the house of course) and he's SUPER excited to see the baby birds. (Just like Baby Brother he tells me.)
I'll keep everyone updated on our new little neighbor. Hopefully once the eggs hatch and the little ones take off, I can plant some new flowers in my baskets! :)

| She flew away for a second when I was closing our windows, so I managed to get a sneak peek at the eggs! |
