Kitty Hawk, NC

Since we got married, before we had Will, we've always talked about going to Kitty Hawk, NC, the birthplace of aviation.  We've talked....and talked...and talked.  We finally made the 3+ hour drive a few weeks ago and had a wonderful time!  It was an amazing experience to actually stand in the spot where the first airplane experienced liftoff and walk the path following each of the tests conducted by the Wright brothers.  If you ever have the chance to go, make sure you do!  It's a beautiful area and the museum is awesome!

View inside the museum, looking outside to the Wright Brothers Monument and field.

Boulder marking the spot where liftoff occurred.

Will & Mommy walking the flight path.  You can see the liftoff
marker and the markers of 3/4 spots where the plane landed.

Overlooking the field from the 4th and final marker.

The flight path (you can see the liftoff boulder and the four markers showing where
the plane landed in the middle left.  The middle right shows replicas of the
workshop and living quarters for the brothers.
